Breaking The Ice

Good Morning!

We are so excited here at Peabody Landscape Group to bring you our blog, Peabody Landscapes Ohio! This blog is going to be so amazing, we can’t wait for you all to start following us on a regular basis.

Our first post is going to include some information about who is writing the blog. We wanted to make this blog a company wide experience, and didn’t think having one person write all of our posts would be beneficial to you, our readers. You are going to hear some great blog topics and its going to be a fun, crazy, and creative ride! Let me take no more of your time and introduce the first fifth of our authors/staff!

Kreep Master Flex

My name is Kelly Craig and I have worked for Peabody Landscape for about nine months in the office doing all sorts of things.  I work mainly in AutoCAD and recently have started 3D rendering in the VizTerra program.  I began working here full-timeish after completing my degree from Columbus State in Landscape Design & Management in December and my bachelor’s in Physical Anthropology from OSU about two years ago.

A little about me… Well, I have been married to my awesome British husband, Ben, for a little over three years now.  We have three dogs between us.  A golden named Bashley, a kelpie/lab mix named Koko, and of course my chinook mix named Pancake.  They are probably more spoiled than the average child, but I’m okay with it.  I have lived in German Village and surrounding areas for almost eight years.  We are currently in Southern Orchards.  I loooove to garden.  This will be the first summer I actually have time to do it properly, so I’m pretty excited about that.  I try and travel as much as possible.  I’ll be going out to the west coast next week and we try to travel over to the UK to visit family once a year.  That’s about as exciting as I get!  You can probably expect blogs from me that are completely random and off the top of my head.  I’m sure it will keep everyone on the edge of their seat!

Whitty Smitty

Dave Smith here. I am currently involved with Residential Landscape Design and Maintenance with Peabody Landscape Group. I have worked in the industry for 12 years, all the while completing the Landscape Design/Build program at Columbus State. I have been involved with many different aspects of the landscape industry and am putting all the knowledge I have gained towards all my clients to make sure they get what they want and deserve.

I am happily married to my beautiful wife, Sara, and we are expecting a little boy on Saint Patrick’s day of this year. We also have two awesome lab mixes, Max and Ellie (both named after Beatles songs). We reside in Upper Arlington and enjoy taking our dogs on walks around the neighborhood.

Some hobbies that I have include coaching/playing baseball, working in my garden, wood work, spending all day on the beach, playing music, hiking and anything on my wife’s home improvements list that need to be accomplished for the week.

With the new landscape season coming upon us, you can expect some creative blogs that involve the wonderful world of plants (types, how to plant, where to plant) and different outdoor living spaces. I can’t wait to start writing for you all!

The Irrigation Guru

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Chris Meyer. I am the Irrigation and lighting manager here at Peabody Landscape.  I’m a native Arizonian where I resided for 38 years. While in Arizona I started my work career in the pipeline profession,  where I ran heavy equipment, installed water and sewer lines. From there, I was employed by the city of Scottsdale and ran a repair crew for the water – sewer Dept. for 11 years.

I then started a landscape irrigation installation business.  I designed and installed mostly high end landscapes. My skill sets are as follows: CADD design, masonry, concrete, desert planting, irrigation design, irrigation install-maintenance, and low voltage outdoor lighting. I ran this business for seven years. I then sold my business and moved to the Tennessee valley where I continued my business venture there I did multiple high end jobs there as well ranging from 2500.00 to 100,000.00. I once again sold my interest in the business after seven years and moved to Ohio.

I have been employed by Peabody Landscape going on eight years, where I have overseen many large projects: Hilton Polaris, Kent State University, Town Street Bridge, Columbus Police Dept., Cincinnati Airport, and Manor Homes retirement community to name a few. My responsibility includes estimating and overseeing all commercial projects .I’m also responsible for the design and sales for the residential irrigation and lighting division.

That’s enough of the boring stuff now about my personal life. I have 4 grown children and 7 grandchildren. My two daughters live in Arizona. One of my sons lives in Tennessee and my youngest son is stationed at Fort Jackson South Carolina. They are my rock. I also have three sisters who live in Arizona I try and get back to see them as much as I can, family is everything to me. I love to boat when I’m not at work and that’s where you will find me pretty much every weekend when the weather is nice. I also love to fish, garden and doing pretty much anything outdoors. The picture I’m Posting with this blog is of me, my wife Lori and my Son Brandon. As you can tell I’m huge Alabama Fan and also follow NASCAR as some of the sports I watch. Well that’s it for now I hope you have gotten a sense for who I am.

Till I blog again take care Chris Meyer AKA: “The Irrigation Guru”

Well that is the first of our amazing authors! We have a few more posts to introduce them all, but we will be sure to throw in some interesting and engaging posts along the way. We hope you enjoyed reading about our first couple authors and expect some other creative names and photos to follow!
