With warm weather finally around the corner, it’s going to be close to 70 degrees this weekend :), there are going to be some beautiful gardens that explode with color. It may be in your backyard or one of your neighbors down the street. One that I can guarantee will be one of the most colorful here in Central Ohio is at the Franklin Park Conservatory.
If you have never heard of the Franklin Park Conservatory it is a wonderful place to take the family and see some amazing biomes, butterflies, and different plant species; definitely a gardeners dream. I have noticed that tulips and other perennials are starting to push out of the ground and this only means one thing, color is back!
So at the Franklin Park Conservatory they have a lot inside that you can see all year round, but my personal favorite is walking through their outdoor gardens. There is nothing better than walking with family or friends feeling a refreshing Spring breeze come from behind you to release all the beautiful smells of different flowers. It’s pretty magical to say the least.
So to give you something to plan ahead for, I am going to recommend the Daylily Garden to you. This garden has many different types of lilies and all of them mixed together is something to take in. The smell of the air just draws you in and it’s almost irresistible. Just looking at the deep and bright colors of the flowers it looks like something that you just cant pass up!
Amazing isn’t it? And the best part is that it is just one more thing that we all here in Central Ohio have to look forward to. Now on to another one of my suggestions that I think is one of the coolest ideas EVER!
So to go along with the Daylily Garden there is also another garden which is quite mysterious, the Trial Garden. This is because every year, gardeners from around the world send seeds to the Franklin Park Conservatory to try to grow their plants and see how they respond to the climate here in Columbus, Ohio! So freaking cool because this allows all of our avid gardeners a chance to plant new and colorful plants in their garden, plants that these gardeners never thought they could grow or never even heard of. Amazing. Now this is something that has to be checked out multiple times to see how the plants are reacting throughout the warmer months, but something you must see. Check it out!
I hope you get a chance to experience this amazing place this year. It is so worth the trip down to Bexley, OH in the heart of Columbus to see these incredible plants and the colors they have. You wont regret it and let us know how your visit goes, we would love to hear about it!
